Facing Rainy Season, 245 Heavy Equipments Prepared in Jakarta

As many as 245 heavy equipment have been prepared in order to face the rainy season. Even 24 mobile pumps are also prepared to back up puddle-prone areas in the capital city.

These equipments are in very good condition and has been operated for dredging. We do this to minimize puddles during rainy season

Jakarta Water Resources Dept.'s UPT Alkal Head, Rudi Syahrul those equipment will be used to dredge the rivers, reservoirs, connecting channels, etc. Most of them have been deployed in advance to anticipate the rainy season.

"These equipment are in very good condition and has been operated for dredging. We do this to minimize puddles during rainy season," he expressed, Monday (10/29).

While the mobile pump was just released this year. This adds to the number of mobile pumps that previously had 102 units.

UPT Akal Equipment Executing Unit Head, Supriyatno added that those 24 mobile pumps have been sent to Water Resources Sub-dept. Some are sent to East Flow, West Flow and Central Flow Section of Water Resources Dept., and the rest are alerted at the UPT Alkal pool in Pinang Ranti, Makasar, East Jakarta.

"Then four mobile pumps that are used as stationary pumps. Each of them is placed in the Pondok Labu Pump House (two units), WTC Manggadua (one unit), and Muara Angke (one unit)," he stated.

His side also prepares 325 dump trucks to pick up mud or ex-excavated land. They consist of 76 units with a capacity of 22 cubic meters, 36 units with a capacity of 13 cubic meters, 44 units with eight cubic meters, and 169 units with a capacity of five cubic meters.
