City to Speed Up Development Projects

Jakarta Governor Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo asks Vice Governor Basuki T Purnama, who will replace his position as the number one man in the capital city, to immediately finish all development programs which currently ongoing as well as have been planned. Moreover, Jakarta is already confirmed to host the 2018 Asian Games.

Jokowi admitted that he discusses many things with Basuki, including the construction of BMW Stadium, that will be used for the Asian Games, as well as some flats in Muara Baru, Jatinegara Kaum, Jatinegara Barat, and Marunda which targeted to finish this year.

“I think that before 2018 the construction of BMW Stadium must already be finished. And, soon we’ll also gather urban village and sub-district heads to do socialization to the residents about those flats. By September, those flats could be occupied,” he stated, Thursday (8/7).

Moreover, Jokowi disclosed that he and Basuki also discussed about the plan to replace the officials in the environment of Jakarta Provincial Government. The plan will be conducted if those officials could not finish the programs they have been planned before. However, he is reluctant to tell which officials to be replaced.

“It is being mapped, we’ll see it first,” he told.
