80 Athletes Participate at Jakarta Badminton Sister City 2018

80 junior athletes will participate in Jakarta Badminton Sister City 2018 Tournament on November 19-22 at Soemantri Brodjonegoro GOR, Jl. HR Rasuna Said, Setiabudi, South Jakarta.

This competition is also held to strengthen relation, sense of togetherness and unity between Sister City partners

In this group-system tournament, Jakarta acts as a host and it will be participated by Sister Cities of Jakarta such as Seoul, Bangkok, and Beijing.

Jakarta Youth and Sport Dept. (Dispora) Head, Ratiyono assessed, this tournament is a very good and strategic chance for young badminton athletes to hone their skills and techniques that have been obtained during training.

"This is the chance where they can gain experiences through competition and develop their achievements," he conveyed at dinner banquet with Jakarta Badminton Sister City delegations, City Hall, Sunday (11/18).

He encourages all participants to build a friendly and sportive atmosphere even though it is a competition.

"This competition is also held to strengthen relation, sense of togetherness and unity between Sister City partners," he added.

According to him, badminton is very popular and favored sport by many people, including students, college students, and young executives.

"Badminton becomes a sport that is mostly contested at national regional, and international levels," he mentioned.

According to him, Dispora will use this chance to inform about progress of badminton development in Indonesia, both in breeding and training young athletes.

"We will also inform them about badminton clubs in Indonesia and its various achivements," he said.
