Pluit Urban Village Intensifies Cleaning Channel

In order to prevent coastal flood in settlements, Pluit Urban Village deploys all PPSU personnel to clean up water channels at RW 21 and 22 since it is located near beach.

Water can flow smoothly and no inundation in this area if those channels are not clogged

Pluit Urban Village Head, Yoel Mark Stefan Sibarani mentioned, this cleaning is done since last week and he hopes it can be finished in the next few days.

"Water can flow smoothly and no inundation in this area if those channels are not clogged," he conveyed, Tuesday (12/4).

He explained, water flows from residential channels leads to Muara Angke Reservoir before later it will flow to sea. Besides cleaning water channels, his side also builds emergency dike using sand-filled sacks and place it around the waterfront near RW 22 Pluit residential.

"We build emergency dike as high as 60 centimeters and as long as 500 meters. It is build by using around 1,000 sacks," he informed.
