Anies Wants Better Economic Growth Next Year

I reiterate, economic growth in Jakarta should meet the standard

Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan expects Jakarta economy growth in 2019 to be better thus it could be felt by the whole society.

He said, high economic growth expected to improve Jakartans' welfare. Thus advance in infrastructure sector is needed thus it could provide a fair condition for all residents and minimize inequality.

"I reiterate, economic growth in Jakarta should meet the standard. It means, it should be high but the other hand, it should reach all aspects," he asserted after giving instruction about Jakarta policies in Bank Indonesia (BI) Annual Meeting, Jl. MH Thamrin, No.10, Kebon Melati Urban Village, Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta, Thursday (12/6).

He explained, Jakarta Government and BI Jakarta representative need to have a measured plan in each economic policies thus it can be fair to all Jakartans. Because one of state's goals is to provide social justice for its citizens.

"Bank Indonesia Jakarta representative can give some inputs for Jakarta Government to set new standards for qualified economic achievement," he stated.

Meanwhile BI Jakarta Representative Office Head, Trisno Nugroho explained, this annual event makes his side to have a better synergy with Jakarta Government in improving economy growth and citizen's welfare.

"This meeting helps us to evaluate in this year and arrange some strategic plans for next year," he mentioned.

According to him, inflation rate should be also suppressed to improve citizen's welfare.

"We want better economic growth and low inflation rate," he conveyed.
