Won Many Awards, Anies Proud of Jakarta Youth Choir

Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan feels proud and appreciates Jakarta Youth Choir (JYC) which is trained by Jakarta Youth and Sport Dept. (Dispora) for their achievements.

All JYC delegations have amazed the world

This year, JYC gets some awards from Oriental Choir Competition International in Singapura; Joy Dancing Beijing Festival in China; and Chorus Inside Advent International Choir Competition in Rome, Italy.

He mentioned, JYC becomes the only one choir from Indonesia, even Asia in Chorus Inside Advent International Choir Competition. Other competitors are from United States, Italy, France, Croatia, Russia, Romania, and Ghana.

"This is the first time for all JYC members to compete in Europe and also in winter. Surely, there are difficulties, but their struggles are paid off fully by being the best," he said after welcoming JYC in City Hall, Monday (12/10).

He hopes, JYC can continue to reap many achievements in international scale. Thus they can make Jakarta and Indonesia proud.

"All JYC delegations have amazed the world. We will continue to support JYC in getting another achievements. Hopefully JYC can be a charming guest in other countries and also great host in their own country," he expressed.

As previously reported, JYC has succeeded in gaining achievements for all category in Chorus Inside Advent International Choir Competition held on December 1-3, 2018. Those categories are: Category A (Tradizionale Muzic), Category B (Folklore), and Category C (Sacred/Polyphonia). JYC also managed to get a perfect score from jury and it became the first of 34 times this competition was held.

Moreover, JYC was also given a title as Grand Prix Winner of The Year since this choir got special jury award such as "The Best Choreography" and "The Best Conductor" for Septo Adi Kristanto Simanjuntak.
