Jakarta Government via Tourism and Culture Dept.'s Monas Management Unit (UPK) holds design contest for Medan Merdeka and National Monument (Monas) Interior Site Plan Arrangement (PRTK).

I believe, there are many extraordinary works that can be produced

Here is the schedule:

1. Registration and required documents for contest should be received on December 11-16, 2018.

2. Administration evaluation on December 14-17.

3. Administration evaluation result will be informed on December 17.

4. Survey and explanation will be given on December 20, 2018.

5. Design should be received no later than January 21, 2019.

6. Technical evaluation on January 22-24.

7. Technical evaluation result will be informed on January 25.

8. Presentation evaluation on January 28-30.

9. Winner announcement on January 30.

Here are the requirements for Medan Merdeka Site Plan Arrangement (PRTK) contest participants:

1. Participants should be Indonesian Citizens (WNI).

2. One group should has at least one of its members to have competence / expertise in architecture, landscape architecture, or archeology and has a valid SKA Madya/ Utama (certificate of expertise).

3. Maximum 7 people in a group, including the leader. Group can be from individuals combination or consultant (remain on behalf of the group).

4. Participants are allowed to cooperate or collaborate with other disciplines while participating in this contest.

Next, here are the requirements for Monas Interior Design contest participants:

1. Participants should be Indonesian Citizens (WNI).

2. One group should has at least one of its members to have competence / expertise in interior design, architecture, museum curator, or graphic design and has a valid SKA Madya/ Utama (certificate of expertise).

3. Maximum 5 people in a group, including the leader. Group can be from individuals combination or consultant (remain on behalf of the group).

4. Participants are allowed to cooperate or collaborate with other disciplines (information technology, ME expert, structure expert, cultural expert, and others while participating in this contest.

Registration form can be seen at Jakarta official news website of beritajakarta.id, jakarta.go.id, data.jakarta.go.id and ppid.jakarta.go.id. Participants who have filled the form can send it via email to upkmonas@jakarta.go.id.

Through this contest, Jakarta Tourism and Culture Dept. (Disparbud) Acting Head (Plt) wants to create a full and open competition atmosphere in order to obtain innovative and contemporary designs, but still reflect history, culture and philosophy of the nation.

"We will choose the best design from the participants and later we will apply it," he mentioned, Friday (12/14).

He explained, this contest is held to encourage communities thus they can participate and collaborate in giving their best work for Jakarta.

"I believe, there are many extraordinary works that can be produced. People who are interested to participate and need more information, can call Monas UPK in 021-3504333," he conveyed.

He informed, prize for the 1st winner of Medan Merdeka PRTK contest is Rp 150 billion, 2nd place is Rp 75 billion, and 3rd place is Rp 40 billion.  

While prize for the 1st winner of Monas Interior Design contest is Rp 120 billion, 2nd place is Rp 40 billion, and 3rd place is Rp 20 billion.

"Besides money prize, they will also get appreciation plaques and certificates," he said.
