Anies stated that foam in the river was caused by detergent waste from various sources, especially from households.

"When the Sunter Lake water is pumped and flowed into Item River, the residual waste is like stirring causes a lot of foam," he expressed, Wednesday (1/2).

This problem will be a concern to Jakarta Provincial Government to handle it comprehensively.

"It will be our priority for better improvement in the future," he stated.

Jakarta Environment Dept. Head, Isnawa Adji expressed, based on SNI 4594/2010, it regulates detergents with lauric acid levels must be 1.0 percent with a threshold between 9.5-11.

"Detergent does not dissolve in water to a maximum of 10 percent, surfactant levels should be at least 14 percent, surfactant biodegradation should be at least 80 percent and a maximum phosphate content is 15 percent," he told.

He added that the developed countries have used soft detergent technology without phosphate content.

"Hopefully Jakarta can do the same," he hoped.
