The same as MERS virus prevention done some time ago, now we also install thermal scanner to identify which plane passengers who suffer fever

“The same as MERS virus prevention done some time ago, now we also install thermal scanner to identify which plane passengers who suffer fever. In addition, together with the Ministry of Health, we have also set up an emergency health laboratory in case Ebola suspect happened,” stated Head of West Jakarta Health Sub-Department, Widyastuti, Thursday (8/14).

According to Widyastuti, the early symptoms of Ebola sufferer are cold and fever. After that, the virus causes external bleeding on the eyes and gums, as well as internal bleeding that could cause organs failure.

MERS Virus Does Not Deter City Pilgrims to Go Worship

Because of that, she urges the people to temporarily postpone their trips to African countries. Moreover, hajj and umrah pilgrims are also reminded to avoid direct contact with the pilgrims from those countries. For information, Ebola virus spreads not from air, but from direct contact with its sufferer through blood or feces.

“We urge hajj and umrah pilgrims to be careful on Ebola virus outbreaks by paying attention to their health during their stay in the Middle East,” said Widyastuti.
