Independence Day Ceremony, City Applies Traffic Diversion

Jakarta Transportation Department and City Police prepare road closure and traffic diversion during the Indonesia’s Independence Day ceremony is held in the State Palace on upcoming Sunday (8/17) at 5-12 AM and 2-7 PM.
The citizens are urged not to do any activity or sport on Jalan Jenderal Sudirman and Jalan MH Thamrin because the traffic on both roads will be normal
The road lanes that will be closed are Jalan Merdeka Barat – Jalan Merdeka Utara – Jalan Majapahit (east side) – Jalan Veteran Raya – Jalan Veteran I – Jalan Veteran II – Jalan Veteran III – Jalan Museum.
And here the traffic diversion to be imposed:
No Car Free Day on Independence Day- Traffic from Jalan MH Thamrin (south side) heading Harmoni, Tomang, and Kota is directed to Jalan MH Thamrin – Jalan Budi Kemuliaan – Jalan Abdul Muis – Jalan Majapahit (west side) – Harmoni – so on.
- Traffic from Jalan Hayam Wuruk (north side) or from Jalan Suryopranoto (west side) towards Jalan MH Thamrin (south side) is directed to Jalan H Juanda – Jalan Pos – Jalan Lapangan Banteng Utara – Jalan Pejambon – Jalan Medan Merdeka Timur – Jalan MI Ridwan Rais – turn at Tugu Tani – Jalan Medan Merdeka Selatan – Jalan MH Thamrin – so on.
- Traffic from Pasar Baru (west side) heading Harmoni, Tomang, and Kota is directed to Jalan Pos – Jalan Lapangan Banteng Utara – Jalan Pejambon – Jalan Medan Merdeka Timur – Jalan MI Ridwan Rais – turn at Tugu Tani – Jalan Medan Merdeka Selatan – Jalan Budi Kemuliaan – Jalan Abdul Muis – Jalan Majapahit (west side) – Harmoni – so on.
In addition, the car free day activity on Jalan Jenderal Sudirman and Jalan MH Thamrin will be dispensed on Sunday, August 17, 2014.
“We have coordinated this road diversion with the City Police. The citizens are urged not to do any activity or sport on Jalan Jenderal Sudirman and Jalan MH Thamrin because the traffic on both roads will be normal,” stated Head of Jakarta Transportation Department, Friday (8/15).
