Jakarta Tourism and Culture Department (Disparbud) committed to develop and preserve Betawi cultural arts by intensifying activities such as Betawi cultural art competitions, festivals, and performances abroad.

This year, we plan to increase Betawi coaching activities by almost 100 percent than last year

This commitment is also supported by Jakarta Regulation (Perda) No. 4/2015 about Betawi Culture Preservation and Governor Regulation (Pergub) No.229/2016 about Implementation of Betawi Culture Preservation.

"This year, we plan to increase Betawi coaching activities by almost 100 percent than last year by running it in all Jakarta regions including Thousand Islands," mentioned Asiantoro, Acting Jakarta Disparbud Head (Plt), Monday (2/4).

He informed, each Jakarta regions has its own superior areas for example Central Jakarta has Pasar Baru, Pecenongan and Jalan Jaksa. While South Jakarta has Kemang and Setu Babakan Betawi Cultural Village.

"I want Tourism and Cultural Sub-department (Sudinparbud)s to be creative in optimizing each regions' potentials," he asserted.

He considered this coaching activity is also potential to increase number of local and foreign visitors.
