The Thousand Islands Transportation Sub-agency is supervising and guiding the boat owners under 9 GT in Thousand Islands.

We prioritize more on coaching, all for shipping safety for the boat and its crew

The supervision, which relates to certificates of fishing boats, tourist boats and water taxis is in accordance with the instructions of the Shipping Law Number 17/2008 on Boat Safety and Aspects.

Thousand Islands Transportation Sub-agency's Field Coordination Head, Ali Azrafiq said that it is conducted by involving army and police, starting from Bidadari Island, Untung Jawa Island, Bokor Island, Pari Island, Pramuka Island, Harapan Island, and Kelapa Island.

"We prioritize more on coaching, all for shipping safety for the boat and its crew," he expressed, Thursday (2/28).

Some aspects of boat safety are examined besides ship certificates, including documents and boat safety equipment such as life jackets.

"Our hope is all boats can obey the rules for s hipping safety," he stated.
