FKD-MPU Members Signed MoU to Strengthen Disaster Resilient Communities

Jakarta Government together with other 9 members the Governor Meeting of the Regional Cooperation Forum – Mitra Praja Utama (FKD-MPU) has agreed on cooperation to strengthening disaster resilient communities. This agreement signing was done in Bandung, West Jakarta on Wednesday (3/27).

This Governor Meeting Forum is the highest forum in making a decision

Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan; West Java Governor, Ridwal Kamil; Banten Governor, Wahidin Halim; regional heads who are representing FKD-MPU members of Central Java, East Java, Lampung, Bali, West Nusa Tenggara, East Nusa Tenggara, and Special Region of Yogyakarta; Head of the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), Lieutenant General Doni Monardo.

Anies Attended FKD-MPU XIX Working Meeting

Jakarta Government Secretary (Setdaprov)'s Governance Bureau Head, Premi Lasari conveyed, there are three points in this cooperation in order to build disaster resilient communities:

First, efforts to tackle disaster together. It means, if one region is suffered due to disaster, assistance can be given immediately due to having legal protection.

Second, related to FKD-MPU organizational restructuring according to Government Regulation (PP) No. 28/2018.

Third, commitment to strengthen community cultures to be a local wisdom-based disaster resilient community such as helping each other and preserving communal work culture.

FKD-MPU Joint Secretary Heads who handle all FKD-MPU members administrative needs are from Jakarta Setdaprov's Government Assistant and Jakarta Setdaprov's Governance Bureau Secretary, while its members are government assistants from 9 other provinces.

"This Governor Meeting Forum is the highest forum in making a decision. Then, it is followed up from technical SKPDs from each regions," she stated.
