Residents Learn to Make Handmade Products in Gondangdia RPTRA

Central Jakarta Energy and Industry (PE) Sub-department held handicraft training class in Gondangdia Children-Friendly Integrated Public Space (RPTRA), on Jalan Probolinggo No. 1, Gondangdia, Menteng Sub-district. This training is a part of Integrated Entrepreneurship Development (PKT) program.

Through this training, we want to encourage them to use their handmade cloth bag instead of plastic bag when shopping

There are 40 residents participated in this training. They were taught how to make bag, clutch, oven mitts, and pocket tissue holder.

Novri, mentor from Central Jakarta PE Sub-department said, her side provides four professional instructors in handicraft to train the participants to make useful handmade products.

"We give this training especially for women. Through this training, we want to encourage them to use their handmade cloth bag instead of plastic bag when shopping," she mentioned, Thursday (3/28).

One of the participants, Neneng (43) admitted to join this class because she is interested to start her own business by selling handmade products.

"I plan to make my own business. Moreover, it is very easy to make and doesn't need sew machine," she expressed.

Anot her participant, Kusdiati (53) also conveyed similar opinion. According to her, this training is very useful for women who want to learn in making handmade products and start their own business.
