Food Control Action in 26 Markets Intensified

Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture and Food Security Agency conducted an integrated food control action in traditional and modern markets by targeting livestock, fisheries and agriculture commodities.

We have done it in 26 markets since May 16-15 by examining samples of chicken, intestine, beef, salted fish, and vegetables

"We have done it in 26 markets since May 16-15 by examining samples of chicken, intestine, beef, salted fish, and vegetables," said Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture and Food Security Agency's Food Security Division Head, Mujiati, Wednesday (5/15). 

Thus far more than 1,000 samples were tested through three laboratory cars. As results, the security level of food commodities in Jakarta reached 99 percent.

Soon, Integrated Food Operation to Be Held at Senen Market

"If harmful substances are detected, we will make a statement form and a dossier to the seller or producer, as well as and confiscate the remaining products," he asserted.

To conduct the raid, his side was assisted by the civil servant investigators (PPNS) and Polda Metro Jaya supervisory coordinators (Korwas).

His side was determined to continue to intensify food control action during Ramadan.

"We want to ensure the food product can be consumed and safe from harmful substances," he stated.
