KPKP Educates Visitors at Semasa Piknik and Pasar Raia Keliling 2019

Jakarta Maritime Agriculture and Food Security (KPKP) Department participates to enliven Semasa Piknik and Pasar Raia Keliling events which is held at Lapangan Benteng, Sawah Besar, Central Jakarta, on June 22-23, by opening booth that shows pavilion decoration, hydroponic system, and sells beverages such as smoothies made from local's harvested crops.

Jakarta KPKP Department's Agriculture Acting Division Head (Plt), Suharini Eliawati informed, Semasa Piknik and Pasar Raia Keliling are parts of Jakarta's 492nd Anniversary events.

Those events are held to introduce visitors about the concept of space-based agricultural development. Her side cooperates with urban farming communities; Asmat Green Alley from Petukangan Selatan, Pesanggrahan, South Jakarta; Rustanti Children-Friendly Integrated Public Space (RPTRA) and Karang Anyar RPTRA from Johar Baru Sub-district, and Balkot Farm Community.

"We want to educate visitors about space-based agricultural development, hydroponic techniques, and others," she said, Sunday (6/23).

Besides, there is also cooking demo on the location where visitors can taste and learn how to make Bok Choy Smoothies and butterfly pea tea.

Patricia, one of the KPKP Department's booth visitors said to learn more about space-based agricultural development.

"Officers are very friendly and they socialize it well and clearly. Hopefully this knowledge can be applied anywhere and create an Eco-friendly environment" she stated.
