West Jakarta Encourages People to Contribute in Maintaining Public Facilities

West Jakarta Mayor, Rustam Effendi encourages citizens to maintain the existing public facilities. He assesses that Jakartans should be caring and responsible for the city where they live.

Citizens awareness about existence of Jakarta should be improved to form their responsible for the city where they live

"Citizens awareness about existence of Jakarta should be improved to form their responsible for the city where they live. Government is responsible to provide transportation, repair drainage system, tackle flood, develop education, and others. In the other hand, citizens can contribute by not damaging public facilities and infrastructures that we have built," he asserted when attending Siaga Betawi's establishment declaration at Srengseng Urban Forest, Sunday (6/28).

Commission D Appreciates Development Progress in Jakarta

According to him, Srengseng Urban Forest can be used as an example. It is built using public tax and utilized as water catchment area, tourist destination, and public space for community activities.

"Through public tax, we build Srengseng Urban Forest. Then, citizens can contribute by maintaining its cleanliness," he stated.
