This Saturday, Let's Join World Environment Day Event in Lapangan Banteng

Commemorating World Environment Day, Jakarta Environment (LH) Department to hold activities with theme 'Beat Air Pollution' at Lapangan Banteng, Sawah Besar, Central Jakarta on Saturday (7/6) from 7 AM to 12 PM.

It will be enlivened by interesting activities such as making biopore infiltration holes, planting protective trees, and painting contest. Painting contest is opened for students from elementary to senior high school and disabled students. Its painting object is plants that can reduce pollutants. Participants must paint it on eco-friendly shopping bag as the medium.

Free Emission Test Held in South Jakarta Mayor Office

For registration, Jakarta LH Department's Community Participation Department Head, Djoko Riyanto informed, it can be done directly on the location or via Jakarta LH Department's official social media account.

"Through this event, we want to educate children from early age about plants that have benefits to minimize pollutants and improve air quality," he explained, Tuesday (7/1).

He informed, the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd winners will get money prize and their painting will be displayed at Jakarta LH Department Office.

"Winners will be announced on the same day," he added.

Meanwhile, Jakarta LH Department's Pollution Handling Section Head, Agung Pudjo stated that his side also provides car emission test both for four-wheeled vehicles with gasoline and diesel fuels.

"Visitors or road users who are passing around Lapangan Banteng are free to participate car emission test from 7AM to 12PM. Registration can be done on the location or via Uji Emisi application that can be downloaded from Play Store," he stated.
