Emission-Based Parking Zoning Policy Applied in Mayor Office's Parking Building

North Jakarta Government applies emission-based parking zoning in Mayor Office starting on Monday (7/22). On the first day, Mayor Office's internal security (Pamdal) personnel netted tens cars that haven't undergone emission test.

"We are focus on checking official cars and cars owned by civil apparatuses (ASN). Those who haven't undergone emission testing are prohibited to park in Mayor Office's parking lot," asserted North Jakarta Government's General Section Head, Win Bawar Gayo, Monday (7/22).

Emission Test in Central Jakarta Targets 2,000 Vehicles

His side explained, car checking is done in two different places. First is in the entrance gate and second is on the ground floor of Mayor Office's parking building at Block T.

"We deploy four internal security personnel in each checking points from 6 AM to evening. They are using gadget to check whether the car has undergone emission test or not," he explained.

According to him, around 20 cars that don't pass the emission test or hasn't undergone emission test are netted and instructed to exit the parking building.

"Regarding this new policy, we are still giving tolerance for guests or citizens," he conveyed.
