Kota Tua Revitalization Budget is Proposed Rp 111 Billion

Kota Tua Management Unit allocates budget as much as Rp 111 billion to revitalize historical tourism area of Kota Tua, West Jakarta.

Kota Tua Management Unit Head, Norviadi S. Husodo conveyed, his side has proposed the budget in Local Government Budget (APBD) 2019 that will be allocated to buy cultural heritage buildings and hold several tourism events.

"Our plan is to buy cultural heritage building and its land on Jalan Cengkeh, across Kali Besar with total budget Rp 49 billion. This spot is located near Kota Intan Bridge and the middle of border between West Jakarta and North Jakarta. After renovation, I hope it can attract more tourists," he asserted, Tuesday (8/6).

According to him, West Jakarta District Prosecutor's Security Team for Government and Regional Development (TP4D) supervise cultural heritage buildings purchasing process directly.

"We will also consult it with KPK Team and inspectorate auditors to ensure the land purchasing is not causing legal problem in the future," he added.

He is optimistic to purchase this historical asset and turn it into museum, gallery, and audio visual facility for public use.

"Remaining budget will be used for office operational, event promotion and socialization, and security," he explained.
