PT Transjakarta Commits to Reduce Air Pollution

City-run transportation company PT Transjakarta is committed to participate in reducing air pollution in the capital through environmentally friendly bus concept.

And the second is the use of environmentally friendly fuels for public transportation, like gas fuel

Transjakarta President Director, Agung Wicaksono said that the first thing to do is the age limitation of public transportation vehicles owned by the company and its partners.

City to Add More Green Open Spaces in Jakarta

"And the second is the use of environmentally friendly fuels for public transportation, like gas fuel," he stated, Tuesday (8/13).

Thus far, there have been 300 units using gas and have European emission standards, meaning that from the aspect of specifications are environmentally friendly. Further, Transjakarta will encourage the use of electric vehicles.

"We also has also tested three electric buses, consisting of two large buses and one medium bus," he told.

By so, it is hoped that the central government regulation about electric-fueled vehicles can be finished. 

"After that we'll include the use of electric bus for our public transportation," he closed.
