Thousand Islands Environment (LH) Sub-department personnel measures air quality on inhabited islands such as Panggang Island, Pramuka Island, Kelapa Island, and Harapan Island.
Air quality monitoring is done to support Air Quality Index (IKU) in Jakarta
Thousand Islands LH Sub-department Community Participation Division's Expert Technical Staff, Riza Lestari Ningsih conveyed, her side is assisted by Environment Ministry to test air quality on several inhabited islands using passive sampler method that can measure amount of sulfur dioxide (SO2) and nitrogen dioxide (NO2) contained in the air and its result can be known in the next 10-14 days ahead.

Last year, IKU was measured by testing air quality in five Jakarta regions. But this year, air quality on Thousand Islands will be included in measuring IKU.
"Last year, air quality on Thousand Islands was relatively good. Hopefully, this year can be better," she mentioned.
