1,000 Elementary Students of Makasar Participate in Gemarikan Campaign

1,000 students who represent 38 public and private elementary schools in Makasar Sub-district are campaigning Gemarikan (community fish consumption) movement at Dirgantara III Field, Kompleks Halim Perdanakusuma, Makasar Sub-district, East Jakarta.

We try to educate them through storytelling

Through this campaign, Makasar Sub-district Head, Kamal Alatas wants to educate participants about the importance of consuming fish from early age.

"We try to educate them through storytelling. Our purpose is not only encouraging them to love eating fish, but also to build high quality human resources," he explained, Tuesday (8/27).

In this event, East Jakarta Maritime Agriculture and Food Security (KPKP) Sub-department's Fisheries Section Head, Supriyadi Saleh mentioned, his side also gives goodie bag to the participants that contains of fish meatballs, siomay, nugget, ebi katsu and ebi furai.
