Jakarta TPID Cooperates with Sidrap Regency Regarding Rice Commodity

Jakarta Regional Inflation Control Team (TPID) cooperates with Sidenreng Rappang (Sidrap) Regency of South Sulawesi in food sector. Sidrap Regency is known as one of the rice production centers that always have surplus rice stock sent to other regions.

Jakarta Secretary's Assistant in Economy and Financial, Sri Haryati conveyed, her side has started this cooperation since August 21, 2019, which is focus on rice commodity.

"As we know, Jakarta doesn't have many rice fields. Thus we need to cooperate with other regions to ensure rice stock in Jakarta remain safe," she mentioned, City Hall, Tuesday, (8/27).

For information, need of rice in Jakarta can reach 3,000 tons per day, while for meat is about 197.3 tons, chicken 1.127 tons, vegetable 1,461 tons, chili 120 tons, shallot 120 tons, garlic 90 tons, fruit 1,034 tons, fish 566 tons fish, and egg 289 tons.

"Food availability and price stability give a huge impact on inflation rate and our economy. Thus we need to cooperate with other regions to fulfill those needs," she asserted.
