Fire Strikes Seven Rented Houses in Penggilingan

Temporary allegation, it was triggered by electrical short-circuit from a stall

A fire razed seven rented houses on Jalan Raya Penggilingan, RT 012/007, Penggilingan, Cakung, on Sunday (9/8) early morning.

"Temporary allegation, it was triggered by electrical short-circuit from a stall. To put out the flames, we sent 16 fire engines to the scene," said East Jakarta Fire and Rescue Sub-agency's Fire and Rescue Division Head, Gatot Sulaeman.

Due to this incident, a resident suffered injuries after he/she tried to save him/herself.

The material loss was estimated at Rp 900 million.

"The case now has been handled by the Cakung Sector Police officers for further investigation," he stated.
