To prevent bullying case, Jakarta Vice Governor, Basuki 'Ahok' T Purnama expects teachers can able to minimize delinquency potential in schools. If not, Basuki will cast strict sanction to them.
He asserted that sanction is in form of demotion until dismissal. "If the (teachers) cannot minimize bullying in school, they must be demoted or dismissed. I just want Jakarta to be free from bullying case," he stressed, at City Hall, Wednesday (9/3).
Principal of SDN Makasar 09 Officially DemotedAccording to him, teacher who does not want to recognize students is not a good teacher. As an educator, each teacher should know which students are misbehaving or not, and then given advised.
"After being advised, yet the students still do the same thing. Teacher should tell this matter to their parents, instead of expelling students from school," he explained.
The former Regent of East Belitung added that state schools in Jakarta are currently having the least capacity. As a result, many children aged 16-18 cannot continue their education in school. He hopes, empty seats left by the naughty students can be filled by other children who want a serious study.
"We had better give it (empty seat) to children who want to continue their education seriously, than maintaining naughty students. After being expelled from school, I think the naughty students could be a boxer and be more successful than torturing classmates," he explained.
