City Wins Award for Early Childhood Service Quality Improvement Program

The Jakarta Provincial Government won an award for an early childhood service quality improvement program from the international NGO Save The Children. The award was given at the 10th Save the Children 2019 partner meeting in CGV Cinemas, Bella Terra, Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta, on Wednesday (9/18).

We express our gratitude for the award given to us

The city government is deemed to have become a strategic and tactical partner in joint collaboration to realize a child-friendly and resilient city.

"We express our gratitude for the award given to us. InsyaAllah, it will add to our motivation in working for our children in Jakarta. According to us, if a city is child-friendly, friendly to the elderly, friendly to disabled people, the city will be friendly to all. That's why we want to concentrate on these three," Anies expressed as quoted by Jakarta PPID's press release.

He asserted a government oriented towards sustainability into the future would make education and health as a priority. Therefore, the city must be open to collaborating with anyone to reach a healthy, independent and beneficial future generation for the environment and others.

"We want to encourage to continue to build a healthy ecosystem for child-friendly city programs. And this program, we absolutely need the role of citizens. That's why we often term collaborative cities. Collaborative city means we are in this government as a collaborator and community as a co-creator. This means that solutions to matters related to child-friendly city development can emerge from all parties, but not monopolized by the government," he explained.

Hopefully Jakarta can continue to develop as a child-friendly city that provides space for young people to grow in accordance with their best potential. According to him, school institutions, families and homes, as well as the public environment must be a pleasant space for the development of children.

"When we talk about how to create healthy ecosystems for children, we have to adopt newest approaches. We can use these approaches to realize our program in real. For all of us, I hope we can place anyone's child as our child or our younger sibling. We have to wake up to their awareness," he told.

As for the information, this activity is also the closing of the digital literacy program "IT for learning" which had been held in several schools. This program provides an opportunity for teachers to use communication information technology (ICT) in supporting teaching and learning activities in the classroom for providing varied materials.
