Jakarta Health Department reminds the importance of pharmaceutical service as a part of optimal integrated health service for residents.

Pharmacist holds an important key in supporting the success of patient's treatment

Jakarta Health Department Deputy Head, Khafifah Any stated, drug safety and rational use of drug are very important. Thus all patients should get medical treatment that is safe and appropriate.

"Pharmacist holds an important key in supporting the success of patient's treatment and increasing rational use of drug in community," she said at Pharmaceutical Service Talk Show held at Jakarta Health Department Office, Jalan Kesehatan, Petojo Selatan Urban Village, Gambir, Central Jakarta, Wednesday (9/25).

She explained, pharmacists are required to work professionally in serving patients and promoting an optimal health service, including pharmaceutical service.

"Pharmacist's job in hospital, puskesmas, or other health centers is still the same, they should help curing the patients," she asserted.

According to her, pharmacists should gain more knowledge about disease and medicine development, including their skills based on the needs.

"In commemorating World Pharmacists Day, we hope it can be a momentum to remind all pharmacists in Indonesia, especially Jakarta, to continue evaluating their roles as health workers," she mentioned.
