Buildings Without Building Permit Rampant in E. Jakarta

Suboptimal supervision of related units makes buildings without building permit (IMB) are rampant in East Jakarta. Evidently, since January-September, as many as 430 buildings are found not having the building permit or illegal.

We've demolished 130 illegal buildings, and we also have sent warning letter to the rest 297 other buildings

Of the 430 illegal buildings, 133 out of them were demolished forcibly by officers. They consist of 73 houses and 60 non-houses. Then the rest 297 other buildings will be demolished gradually.

"We've demolished 130 illegal buildings, and we also have sent warning letter to the rest 297 other buildings," said Head of Building Controlling Section for East Jakarta Building Control Sub-Department, Ebby Priyatna, Friday (9/5).

4 Illegal Buildings Stood Atop Channel Demolished

Priyatna urges the building owners to process the building permit before constructing a building. Moreover, at this time, people do not need to come to the sub-district office or Building Control Sub-Department office to get building permit. "They just open the website: http://dppb.jakarta.go.id to process the building permit, and then insert the data requested on the computer," he explained.

If the proposed requirements are complete, the data applicant will be scanned or there is a soft copy for uploading the data. The applicant is asked to upload a photocopy of ID card, tax ID (NPWP), proof of land ownership, either land certificate or tax letter rights (girik).

Afterwards, there will be a statement from the local urban village that saying the land that will be built a building is not in dispute.
