PWI Encourages Journalists to Work Harder

The Indonesian Journalists Association (PWI) has announced the winners of the Mohammad Husni Thamrin (MHT) Journalism Award from seven contested categories.

PWI Chairman Sayid Iskandarsyah invites print and electronic media, including the winner of the 2019 MHT Journalism Award, to work harder.

"Keep on working as competition in the future will get heavier," he expressed, at Jakarta City Hall, Thursday (9/26).

MH Thamrin Journalist Award will Be Held Again

There are 2,000 journalistic works included in this MHT Journalism Award assessment.

"We involved seven juries. As a differentiator in its year assessment is the involvement of lecturers from universities that have majoring in journalism education," he explained.

Therefore he wants all journalists in the capital to participate in the MHT Journalism Award next year by starting to produce the best journalistic works.

"We'll give surprise next year, including with more attractive and fantastic prizes," he exclaimed.

In the meantime, the republika.co.id journalists who won the Online Media category with the work "Arranging Our City, Anies' Effort to Localize Foreign Terms" Priyantono Oemar said, the writing was made from the Governor's effort that replaced the foreign term with the local term, including in the case of transportation.

"I'm very grateful after my work was chosen to be the winner. Hopefully my work can also inspire the optimization of the use of local languages," he stressed.

As for the information, there are seven categories in the 2019 MHT Journalism Award, namely General Articles, Headings, Public Service Articles, Online Articles, Television, Photographs and Radio (exhibitions).
