Health Department Holds Annual Scientific Meeting This Year

Jakarta Health Department (Dinkes) holds Annual Scientific Meeting (PIT) in Disease Prevention and Control sector with theme "Surveillance for Action: From Information to Intervention" at Jakarta Dinkes Office, Gambir, Central Jakarta.

They can find problems in their workplaces based on collected data

Jakarta Dinkes Head, Widyastuti stated, this theme is chosen with purpose of answering the challenges of minimum service standards (SPM) through program interventions which is supported by good quality surveillance.

"Employees in sub-district puskesmas, health sub-department and UPT are encouraged to make a scientific abstract journal or paper that will be contested," she asserted, Wednesday (10/2).

Jakarta Health Reminds Importance of Pharmaceutical Service

According to her, it is the first PIT. But there are total 56 abstract journals collected from sub-district puskesmas (health centers), health sub-department, and UPT (PPKP, Labkesda, AGD, Puslatkesda).

"We collaborate with FK MUI as one of the judges who will select which ones are suitable for oral presentation or posters. 16 of 56 abstracts are selected for oral presentation and later it will be presented and assessed by national judge team from Indonesian Epidemiologists Association," she explained.

According to her, PIT in Disease Prevention and Control sector is not only find the best, but also encourages employees in Jakarta Dinkes who are in the midst of their busy schedule to do activity based on regulation at central or provincial level to write abstract journals and photograph from existing data

"Each program should have a good surveillance aspect as an implementation evidence based on data that have been collected," she stated.

According to her, it starts from good data source, validity, good quality, and then it is analyzed and submitted. Its actualization should to be displayed to arouse innovation intervention in writing.

"We want to encourage their innovation intervention in writing. I hope their work can be issued in international journals thus Jakarta Puskesmas can go international through your abstracts," she stated.

In choosing intervention priority in preventing and controlling disease, she continued, it needs database. Database and information gathered through surveillance can be used as a basis for advocacy across programs and sectors.

"They can find problems in their workplaces based on collected data. Thus, they make a scientific journal based on real data," she asserted.
