One of fire socialization is done at SMPN 285 Jakarta, Untung Jawa Island, Thousand Islands. Around 100 participants from teacher and students not only learn to handle fire theoritically, but also practically.
Central Jakarta Gulkarmat Holds Fire Socialization in Kemayoran"We hold fire simulation where we teach participants to safe themselves, evacuate the victims, and handle the fire early," explained Satriadi Gunawan, North Jakarta and Thousand Islands Gulkarmat Sub-department Head, Friday (10/4).
This fire simulation, he added, is made in a scenario thus it helps participants to understand the material. Besides, participants are also taught how to put out fire using fire extinguisher and in traditional way.
SMPN 285 Jakarta Headmaster, Ilyas conveyed his gratitude for North Jakarta and Thousand Islands Gulkarmat Sub-department for training students and teachers to handle fire through fire socialization and simulation.
"As one of children-friendly schools in Jakarta, our students should have basic skills in disaster preparedness to ensure people safety," he mentioned.
