This Month, Jakarta Maritime Museum Holds 'Pitung' Themed Contests and Events

Jakarta Tourism and Culture Department's Maritime Museum Management Unit (UP) holds Popular Essay and Comic Strip Contest with theme 'Si Pitung dalam Ragam Alih Wahana'.

It is an individual contest which is open for all students and college students who live in Jabodetabek

Jakarta Maritime Museum UP Head, Husnison Nizar mentioned, people who are interested to join this contest can register for free through http://bit.ly/daftarlombamuseumbahari on October 1-15, 2019. While the work should be submitted on October 3-15, 2019.

"It is an individual contest which is open for all students and college students who live in Jabodetabek," he conveyed, Monday (10/7).

"Each works will be curated by the judges team. The best 10 will be invited to Maritime Museum for work presentation on October 20," he added.

According to him, there are three judges with background in history, information technology, and marketing.

"Judges will choose the best five that deserve the prize," he asserted.

Besides Popular Essay and Comic Strip Contest, his side also holds another events which raise the same theme. Those are Temporary Exhibition and Workshops held at Maritime Museum in October.

"Exhibition is one of our events that is planned to open on October 13," he asserted.

Through this event, his side hopes people to know more about Pitung character and Rumah Si Pitung (Pitung's House) and attracted to visit it.

"This is a part of our promotion for Rumah Si Pitung and Si Pitung character as one of Betawi figures. We also hold workshops with theme about Pitung," he explained.

For information, Jakarta Maritime Museum UP oversees three locations of Maritime Museum, Rumah Si Pitung in Marunda, and Archeological Park of Onrust Island.
