Duren Sawit Residents Trained to Handle and Prevent Fire

As many as 40 residents of RW 16 Duren Sawit Urban Village, Duren Sawit Sub-district, East Jakarta were educated about fire handling and prevention on Monday (10/7).

Through this education, we want more people to understand how to prevent and handle fire

East Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue (Gulkarmat) Sub-department Acting Head (Plt), Muchtar Zakaria stated, fire education and training is one of Gulkarmat's routine programs.

"Through this education, we want more people to understand how to prevent and handle fire thus number of fire cases in East Jakarta could be reduced," he explained.

Three RWs in North Jakarta Have Environmental Fire Safety System

This training is held on basketball court located at RT 02/016. Participants were taught how to use gas stove, gas regulator, household appliances and electronic goods properly.

Moreover, they also learned how to put out fire using wet towel and fire extinguisher (APAR).

According to RW 16 Duren Sawit Head, Nabri, this fire education and training is the first time held in his region. It is participated by PKK cadres, mosquito larvae controller (Jumantik), LMK, Bimaspol and Babinkamtibmas.

"People in here appreciate personnel for giving training about fire handling and prevention," he stated.
