Water Channel Project on Jalan HOS Cokroaminoto Led to Congestion

Due to this condition, the road becomes narrow, causing congestion in Menteng area

A water channel project on Jalan HOS Cokroaminoto, Menteng, are complained by road users. No wonder, the project has caused traffic congestion, particularly at rush hour.

Specifically, those complain on excavation piles that was left by the project implementer. As a result, road users must be extra careful when passing the road.

Water Channel in Front of Cipinang Rice Market Not Functioning

Rizky Hadi, (22), a motorcyclist disclosed the Central Jakarta Water Management Public Works Sub-Department should take action by warning the project implementer to tidy up and dispose soil. "Due to this condition, the road becomes narrow, causing congestion in Menteng area," he lamented, Tuesday (9/9).

Responding on this matter, Head of Central Jakarta Water Management Public Works Sub-Department, Herning Wahyuningsih admitted she has repeatedly given warning to anticipate congestion. "Therefore, we want road users to be patient until the project is done," she expressed.

She disclosed that such normalization is emergency. This is because the channel has not been replaced for a long time thus it cannot work optimally, particularly during the rainy season.

She added, the project takes areas up to 5 kilometers, and is targeted to be done on December 15.
