South Jakarta Holds Communal Work to Clean Up Uangan River

South Jakarta Administration holds communal work to clean up Uangan River located at RW 01 of Ulujami, Pesanggrahan.

There are around 300 joint personnel deployed

This cleaning work involves hundreds personnel from Water Body UPK, Water Resources Sub-department, Bina Marga Sub-department, South Jakarta Satpol PP, PPSU, PKK cadres, LMK, FKDM, TNI and  Police.

"There are around 300 joint personnel deployed," stated Isnawa Adji, South Jakarta Vice Mayor at the location, Sunday (10/20).

He explained, this cleaning work is a part of South Jakarta Cleaning Activity held simultaneously in 10 sub-districts. Through this activity, his side wants to encourage his residents to be more aware towards their environment.

"BMKG has predicted that we are entering rainy season in November. Thus we need people's participation to clean up areas that prone to inundation," he asserted.

 

Meanwhile, RW 01 Ulujami Head, Misdiran admitted, his side always reminds residents to maintain cleanliness, especially entering the rainy season.

"We keep reminding them for not littering, especially in river, and always maintain cleanliness," he mentioned.
