Gulkarmat Trains Personnel to Rescue Traffic Accident Victims

Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue (Gulkarmat) Department holds Traffic Rescue Operational Capacity Building Activities to train and improve their skill in saving traffic accident victims.

This training is participated by personnel who represent Gulkarmat Sub-department in five Jakarta regions. They will be trained for three days, on November 5-7, 2019.

Jakarta Gulkarmat Department Rescue Operation Assistance (BOP) Section Head, Edi Sucipto said, this training is given to the personnel to improve their capacity as rescuer.

"As rescuer, they should be skilled in using their tools and pay attention to personnel's safety and the surrounding area," he conveyed at Gulkarmat Department Office's yard, Jalan KH Zainul Arifin, Petojo Utara Urban Village, Gambir, Central Jakarta, Thursday (11/7).

His side trains the participants using several scenarios by focusing on standard operating procedures and working procedures based on each group's tasks.

"It includes applying vehicle stabilization and extraction techniques, as well as making rescue access for victims," he added.

Participants will also learn about the possibility of injury when the victim had an accident in the car, either hit from the front, side, or rear.

"Main priority from all the operations are saving the victims. This training also required participants to implement SOP for traffic accident rescue," he mentioned.
