Anies Meets Formula E Racers at City Hall

Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan, welcomed the guests for 'Meet and Greet Formula E' event held at City Hall, Tuesday (11/12).

His presence will fully support Jakarta E-Prix

One of the guests is Stoffel Vandoorne, a Belgian racing driver for Formula E. He is the first Formula E racer who visits Jakarta.

The governor really appreciated the presence of Vandoorne who supports fully the Jakarta E-Prix that will be held in June 2020.

"Formula E is one of our ways to reach Jakarta Langit Biru. His presence will fully support Jakarta E-Prix. Vandoorne has won GP2 Series in 2015 and was a former F1 driver of the McLaren team," he said, as quoted from Jakarta PPID's press conference.

For information, Jakarta Provincial Government together with Formula E has announced about the entry of Jakarta E-Prix circuit in 2019/2020 ABB Formula E Championship series that will be held in June 2020. This championship will be held in the National Monument (Monas) area.

This fully-electric international single-seater racing series has been held across four continents is in line with Jakarta's vision of transportation which uses emission free transportation. Thus it can bring good impact to the environment and citizen's lifestyle to use sustainable energy-based transport.

Even, Vandoorne also appreciated for this chance since his side can be involved in the upcoming Formula E. He is convinced that Jakarta will be a city with great future, including its clean air program.

"I fully support the Jakarta E-Prix. Formula E and I'm ready to support Jakarta in realizing Jakarta Langit Biru and reducing emission," he mentioned.

According to him, next week is the beginning of six season of Formula E that will be held in Ad Diriyah, Saudi Arabia.

"When E-Prix is held, I always get full support from fans," he expressed.
