30 Motorcycles Ticketed Because of Entering Bicycle Lane

Officers controlled several bicycle lanes in Central Jakarta from motor vehicles that use the lane. It was done as the implementation of Governor Regulation (Pergub) No. 128/2019 about Bicycle Lane Procurement that has been issued on November 20.

Today, 30 cyclists are ticketed

Central Jakarta Transportation Sub-department Head, Harlem Simanjuntak mentioned, traffic violators were ticketed by police officers during this controlling.

"We are only socializing this policy, while police officers are ticketing the violators," he explained, Monday (11/25).

Bicycle Lane Controlling, 10 Vehicles in East Jakarta Ticketed

According to him, ticketing is given for motor vehicle users who pass the bicycle lanes on Jalan Suryo Pranoto, Jalan Cideng and Jalan Imam Bonjol.

"Today, 30 cyclists are ticketed," he asserted.

Controlling and ticketing will be done routinely in order to ensure bicycle lanes are sterile from other vehicles other than bicycles.

"Not only giving a deterrent effect, we want to minimize t he potential for traffic accident against bicycle users," he conveyed.
