Regional Representative Council (DPD) member from Jakarta, Sylviana Murni stated her support to Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan who provides more bicycle lanes in Jakarta.

She assessed, bicycle lane is very important as an integrated part to improve air quality and encourage Jakartans more intensively to use bicycle as a means of transportation.
"When I served as Central Jakarta Mayor, along with South Jakarta Mayor, Syahrul Effendi, we had started making bicycle lane. Alhamdulilah, now it is developed massively," she expressed, Sunday (10/13).

"Jakarta Government puts more efforts to bring safety and comfort for bicycle users. Surely it becomes a good attraction," she said.
In order to succeed this bicycle movement, she continued, it needs cooperation from three pilars; government, entrepreneurs, and citizens.
"Socialization and education are needed to be given intensively to citizens," she conveyed.
Besides promoting eco-friendly vehicle, she added, air quality can be improved by not burning rubbish carelessly, and reducing consumption of freon or Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) such as air conditioner.
"I, together with Lions Club, which spreads in five Jakarta regions have organized World Clean Up Day to show our concern towards environment issues," she explained.
For information, Jakarta Government has operated Phase 1 of bicycle lane with total length of 25 kilometers from Jalan Pemuda (Jakarta International Velodrome), Jalan Pramuka, Jalan Proklamasi, Jalan Pangeran Diponegoro, Jalan Imam Bonjol, Jalan M.H Thamrin, to Jalan Medan Merdeka Selatan (Jakarta City Hall).
Then, Phase 2 of bicycle lane has also tested on Saturday (10/12) with total 23 kilometers from Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, Jalan Sisingamangaraja, Jalan Panglima Polim to Jalan Fatmawati Raya.
Meanwhile, for the Phase 3 is built as long as 15 kilometers from Jalan Tomang Raya, Jalan Cideng Timur, Jalan Kebon Sirih, Jalan Matraman Raya, Jalan Jatinegara Barat to Jalan Jatinegara Timur that will be tested in November.
