Commission D Supports Complete Street Concept for Sidewalk Revitalization

The Jakarta Council (DPRD) Commission D together with the Bina Marga Department held a meeting to review Regional Regulation Draft (Raperda) about 2020 City Budget Draft (RAPBD) at Jakarta DPRD Building, Thursday (12/5)

Generally, we support complete street concept for sidewalk revitalization next year

Commission D Chairwoman, Ida Mahmudah stated that her side supported sidewalk revitalization with complete street concept that will be realized by Jakarta Bina Marga in early 2020.

"Within these two days, we will review it in detail. Generally, we support complete street concept for sidewalk revitalization next year," she asserted.

Commission E Reviews Disdik Nomenclatures in 2020 RAPBD

Meanwhile, Jakarta Bina Marga Department Head, Hari Nugroho explained that this complete street concept in question was sidewalks that have facilities for pedestrian comforts, such as crossing lane facility, bicycle lane, green space, trees, and tactile paving for pedestrian with disability.

Its concept would be implemented on 95-kilometer long sidewalks on Jalan MT. Haryono, Jalan Gatot Subroto, Jalan Rasuna Said, Jalan Cassablanca, Jalan KH. Hasyim Ashari and Jalan Pramuka with total budget around Rp 349 billion.

"That is complete road section parts. The sidewalk will be divided again for pedestrian, bicycle lane, main utility hall, bench, street lights, and green space," he mentioned.
