PT. MRT Jakarta-PT. KAI Signs MoU to Form a Joint Venture

PT. MRT Jakarta and PT. Kereta Api Indonesia (PT. KAI) signed the Main Cooperation to Form Company for Transportation Integration in Jabodetabek at Balairung, City Hall, Monday (12/9).

Together with PT. Kereta Api Indonesia, we will form new company as a joint venture vehicle of Jabodetabek integrated transportation

This signing was witnessed by Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan and BUMN Vice Minister, Kartika Wirjoatmodjo.

PT. MRT Jakarta President Director, William Sabandar stated, this agreement signing is done to realize joint venture establishment in urban railway field that will be managed by Jakarta Provincial Government. 

MRT Jakarta Receives Two Prestigious Awards

"Jakarta Provincial Government will have a control over the ownership structure of company that will manage the mode of transportation in the greater Jakarta, Jakarta-Bogor-Depok-Tangerang-Bekasi (Jabodetabek). Together with PT. Kereta Api Indonesia, we will form new company as a joint venture vehicle of Jabodetabek integrated transportation," he explained.

State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Vice Minister, Kartika Wirjoatmodjo added, his side will fully support all infrastructures that have been built for integrated transportation management in Jakarta.

"This joint venture will finalize the concept of railroad integration and TOD potential development in Jakarta. According to plan, this new company will be effectively formed in early 2020," he conveyed.
