Joint personnel from police and North Jakarta and Thousand Islands Vehicle Tax and Vehicle-Ownership Transfer Fee Service Unit (UP PKB BBNKB) carried out door-to-door tax collecting in a shopping center located in Penjaringan Sub-district, Saturday (12/14) night. It was one of their efforts to increase regional tax revenue collected from vehicle tax.

We remind the vehicle owners who haven't paid the taxes to pay their taxes as soon as possible

North Jakarta and Thousand Islands UP PKB BBNKB Head, Robert Lumbuan Tobing explained, that was the first time his side carried out the door-to-door tax collecting method in Penjaringan Sub-district.

"It has the potential to collect tax more effectively. Because after sweeping the area around 1.5 hours, we had netted 50 vehicles," he explained, Sunday (12/15).

Tax Billing Raid towards Motor Vehicles in Mall Parking Lot Intensified

He assessed, tax collecting was done at night during the weekend by targeting shopping center because some shopping centers are usually crowded at that time. After investigating the location, his side found out many visitors' vehicles haven't paid the vehicle tax.

According to him, door-to-door tax collecting has been done in shopping centers often but during the day. He expected this method can increase regional revenue by collecting more vehicle taxes from those who haven't fulfilled their tax obligations.

"We remind the vehicle owners who haven't paid the taxes to pay their taxes as soon as possible. Because sanction and tax relief program is applied until December 30," he asserted.
