SDA will Accelerate Land Acquisition in Cipinang Melayu for Sunter River Normalization

This year, Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Department targets to realize land acquisition towards 18 land plots at RW 04, Cipinang Melayu Urban Village, Makasar, East Jakarta related to Sunter River normalization.

Jakarta SDA Department Head, Juaini Yusuf mentioned, those 18 land plots have been listed in Local Determination (Penlok).

"Immediately, we will free those lands this year. It is a part that should be done to prevent flood," he conveyed while monitoring downstream watershed (DAS) of Sunter River at Cipinang Melayu Urban Village, Saturday (1/25).

After land acquisition is carried out, he expects Public Works and Human Settlements (PUPR) Ministry can start the construction as soon as possible.

"Sunter River is one of 13 rivers whose authority is under PUPR Ministry," he added.

According to him, land acquisition will also be applied to RW 03, Cipinang Melayu Urban Village. But currently it is still in inventorying and field map validation process.

"Soon, it will be freed too. We want our strategy in overcoming flood can be done in a comprehensive and optimal way," he asserted.

In order to overcome flood in Cipinang Melayu, he continued, his side also needs to normalize Sulaiman connecting (PHB) channel.

"This year, Sulaiman PHB channel normalization will be also done by East Jakarta SDA Sub-department," he closed.
