City Collaborates with Kemayoran PPK to Handle Flood in Kemayoran Underpass

Jakarta Provincial Government collaborates with Kemayoran Region Management Center (PPK) to handle flood in Kemayoran Underpass, Central Jakarta.

We deploy total 15 units of mobile pump

Based on beritajakarta.id monitoring on the field, until 5 PM, tens personnel from Water Resources (SDA) Department, Environment (LH) Department, Fire Handling and Rescue (Gulkarmat) Department and Kemayoran PPK are draining the flood using pump cars to the channels near Jalan Convair, Jalan HBR Motik, and Jalan Springhill.

Central Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-department's Kemayoran Sector IV Platoon Head, Mulandono stated, his side deployed 15 pump cars to drain flood in Kemayoran Underpass.

Traffic Flow on Kemayoran Underpass Diverted Due to Flood

"We deploy total 15 units of mobile pump. 5 units from Gulkarmat, 5 units from SDA, 2 units from Kemayoran PPK, and 3 units from PUPR Ministry. We will pumping the water out of the underpass to channel along Mediterania Apartment which disembogue into Sunter River," he explained, Sunday (2/2).

According to him, water draining started at 10 AM. At first, Kemayoran Underpass was flooded as high as 4 meters, but until now it recedes gradually.

"Until now, it has receded into about 3 meters. If the weather is getting better, I predict this underpass can dry out completely by tomorrow morning," he mentioned.

 

Meanwhile, Kemayoran Sub-district Deputy Head, Nuralamsyah conveyed, his side deployed 30 PPSU personnel to clean drainage and road near the location. When flood has receded, they will also clean the area from mud and garbage.

"Each urban village deploy 4 PPSU personnel. We also deploy pick-up car and motor cart (germor), and assistance from LH Department in form of one truck that will be used to transport the waste," he explained.
