Thousand Fingerlings Distributed to Fish Farming Groups in Thousand Islands

Thousand Islands Maritime, Agriculture and Food Security (KPKP) Department distributed thousand fingerlings to several fish farming groups (Pokdakan) in Thousand Islands Regency.

This assistance was given symbolically at Tidung Island Center for Marine Cultivation and Conservation Building, South Thousand Islands.

Jakarta KPKP Department Head, Darjamuni expected this assistance could improve economy and productivity of local fish farmers who use floating net cages.

Fish Farming Training Given to Fish Farmer Groups in Thousand Islands

"We hand over the 900 grouper fingerlings and 100 white snapper fingerling to them," he conveyed, Tuesday (2/11).

He informed, this assistance is given for Pokdakan Baronang, Pokdakan Ayu Bahari, Pokdakan Cantik, Pokdakan Samudera Kerapu, and Pokdakan Baracuda.

"Hopefully later it can be farmed with optimal result," he said.

Meanwhile, Thousand Islands Vice Regent, Junaedi appreciates Jakarta KPKP Department's effort for improving fish farmers in Thousand Islands.

"They are not only giving us assistance and training, but also providing fingerlings. I hope fish farmers in Thousand Islands can be more prosperous," he conveyed.
