1,000 Fingerlings Distributed to 10 Fish Farming Groups in Tidung Island

Jakarta Maritime Agriculture and Food Security (KPKP) Department's Aquaculture and Marine Conservation Center (PBKL) distributes 500 white snapper and 500 cantang grouper fingerlings in size 10-15 cm to 10 fish farming groups (Pokdakan) in Tidung Island, Thousand Islands, on Saturday (5/11).

We expect Pokdakan can intensify Tidung Island BBIL productivity by creating a group to take care the fingerlings and nursery ponds

Those farming groups Pokdakan Paus Biru, Pokdakan Cantang, Pokdakan Ayu Bahari, Pokdakan Bintang Laut, Pokdakan Lodi, Pokdakan Pelangi, Pokdakan Westpack, Pokdakan Tidung Mandiri, Pokdakan Taruna Muda, and Pokdakan Mandiri.

5,000 Fingerlings Given to Thousand Islands' Fish Farming Groups

Next time, Tidung Island PBKL Unit Head, Sartono said, his side will give another fingerlings in size 5-7 cm to adjust nursery ponds in Tidung Island Marine Fish Hatchery (BBIL).

"There is only a few nursery ponds in Tidung Island BBIL. We expect Pokdakan can intensify Tidung Island BBIL productivity by creating a group to take care the fingerlings and nursery ponds. Thus in the future it can produce great quality fingerlings for fish culture in floating net cages," he explained.
