Flooding in Senen Underpass Slowly Starting to Recede

The Jakarta Fire and Rescue (Gulkarmat) Agency conducted floods handling at Senen Underpass, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday (2/25). 

If the rain stops, we predict the underpass will already dry at the latest around 7 PM

Jakarta Gulkarmat Agency Head Satriadi Gunawan said that the agency deployed five tactical vehicles to conduct water suction in the underpass.

Those five tactical vehicles consisted of two mobile pumps with a capacity of 750 gallons per minute, two quick response units with a capacity of 1,500 liters per minute and one submersible pump unit with a capacity of 3,500 liters per minute

"We also send 30 personnel to the location," he expressed.

He explained that the water height initially reached two meters. However, after suctioning at 4 AM, the water level dropped by half a meter.

"If the rain stops, we predict the underpass will already dry at the latest around 7 PM,” he stated.
