Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan asserted that Jakarta Provincial Government will act fast based on facts and urgent situation in handling coronavirus or COVID-19.

Harus responsif

This statement was conveyed after his side held meeting with all Jakarta Government apparatuses and Jakarta-Owned Entrepreneurs (BUMD) at City Hall, Central Jakarta, Monday (3/2).

"Jakarta Government will immediately take quick steps and provide a factual information. We also realize that in this urgent situation, all things should be done quickly and responsively," he conveyed as quoted from Jakarta PPID Press Release.

Jakarta Government is committed to send chained messages regularly through Whatsapp (WA) and SMS about places that should be avoided and its potential risks or any new information that should be known by the public.

"We remind people for not traveling to the locations that have been declared infected by COVID-19. Avoid those places. Jakarta Government will not issue new permit for community activities that involving large number of people. For permits that have been issued before, we will re-review it," he explained.

Based on standard operational procedures (SOP), he reminded residents who are developing symptoms of COVID-19 or seeing people with similar symptoms should call the hotline 112 or 119 immediately. After personnel analyze and diagnose the suspects via telephone and confirm it directly by visiting the suspect's house.

"When having symptoms of COVID-19 don't visit health facility directly. Why? We want to minimize potential transmission if it's confirmed positive. We will call and diagnose their disease via telephone, and pick them up to the health facility. That is the procedure. We have provided enough human resources and facilities to serve Jakartans. Temporarily, we will call them first," he conveyed.

His side asked Jakartans for not into panic buying (buying too many goods for stockpiling) because Jakarta still has enough stock. Instead, excessive shopping is feared to disrupt economic stability.

"Even though they buy hand sanitizer massively, but actually it is better and more effective to wash hand using water and soap," he added.

He mentioned that Jakarta Government is open to all information, especially those related to COVID-19, that should be known together and responded quickly.

"Don't hesitate to report any information to us. We are ready to respond your report. Our team are ready to give fast response for 24 hours regarding COVID-19," he closed.
