Zita Anjani Encourages City to Provide Free Masks for Its Citizens

Jakarta Provincial Government asked to provide free mask for residents, especially in schools, health facilities, and mass transport considering of the spread of COVID-19.

Jakarta Council (DPRD) Vice Chairperson, Zita Anjani stated, medical mask price in the market rose from Rp 25,000 into Rp 350,000 per box.

"I want government to give free mask, especially for residents who are looking for treatment at number of health facilities such as posyandu and hospital. Besides, free mask can be provided for public transportation users, as well as schools and PAUD," she expressed, Tuesday (3/3).

She also encouraged government to find out and evaluate the high price of mask. Thus they can tackle this issue more comprehensively.

"Related Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPD)s should collaborate with police to discipline anyone who stockpiles the mask that causes mask shortage," she asserted.

According to her, all stakeholders should participate actively in socializing Jakarta Governor Instruction (Ingub) No. 16/2020 regarding Increasing Awareness of Risk of Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) Transmission.

"One of them is through socialization. People should develop clean habit by washing their hands with water and soap often, thus coronavirus spread can be avoided," she closed.
